摘要

Media and cultural studies anthologies seem always to come in large, rolling pantechnicons full of huge assortments of goods. This latest example, edited by Rhonda Hammer and Douglas Kellner, is rather better than most. It combines new and previous writings by established and up-and-coming scholars in these closely adjacent fields. It brings these together across four sections dealing with key concepts, approaches and thematics, teaching media/cultural studies, practical examples in 'how to do' media and cultural analysis, and engaging with emergent digital cultures. The individual chapters cover a broad spectrum, as might be expected of the diversity encouraged by these two fields, and many interesting topics, all the way from Barbie to Big Macs.
