The first issue of Nordicom Review for the year 2008 contains articles on blogging and journalism, young people's media use in diaspora, Euro-themes in Swedish, Danish and British TV news, gender equality and diversity in broadcast news policy, Internet research and Danish council reporters, TV sports viewers, representations of proximity and distance in Norwegian international news between 1880 and 1930, Michael Haneke and the cinema of intrusion and the gruesome topic of (non-) reporting of sexual violence againsr male victims during the war in Bosnia-Herzegovina. In a review article, Juha Herkman offers a useful survey of current trends in media research.
