Objective: Functional mitral regurgitation (FMR) is associated with poor outcome in heart failure patients. We aimed to define the echocardiographic parameter primarily related to the degree of functional regurgitation and establish its relationship with clinical status, plasma BNP levels and prognosis in patients with non-ischemic dilated cardiomyopathy (NICMP).
