摘要

Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is associated with myocardial hypertrophy and fibrosis that may interfere with myocardial force generation and relaxation. In HCM, diastolic dysfunction is an important part of the pathophysiology of the disease. The mitral inflow velocity curves cannot be used reliably in estimation of left ventricular filling pressures in these patients. Myocardial deformation imaging (DMI) has been a tool to quantify regional and global ventricular mechanics. We measured myocardial velocities and strain (S) to evaluate local and global diastolic LV properties in patients with HCM.
