In fifteen chapters, Geoffrey Picton-Turbervill edited Oil and Gas: A Practical Handbook presents some of the most common practices of oil and gas industry including their legal, contractual and regulatory dimensions. From the editor's preface, it is clear that the book is meant to be "an introduction to the legal and commercial elements of the oil and gas chain, from resource to market," and as such is aimed at "providing a practical overview of the suite of legal agreements likely to be encountered by a practitioner". This is exactly what the book achieves. The logically arranged chapters comprising articles on different aspects of the industry, have been written by experienced practitioners in the field.
