Engaging Nature: Environmentalism and the Canon Peter Cannavo and Joseph Lane Jr, eds

摘要

Having reviewed the examination of the individual thinkers in each chapter, the contribution made to the field and suggested ways to build on this work, it is clear that Engaging Nature is a significant study within environmental political thought. Though Engaging Nature is not the first work to examine the intersection between the thinkers of the political theory canon and environmentalism, it is the first to unite such a broad range of thinkers and to adopt such a diverse array of approaches whilst also explaining and defending such an approach to environmental political thought. Over twenty years after Andrew Dobson argued that environmentalism could explore and contribute to the history of political thought, that approach is flourishing and the publication of Engaging Nature will ensure that it continues to do so.
