Although tourism and living on the Galapagos Islands are officially regulated, the unique plant and animal life are nevertheless under threat from expanding urbanization. With casual reference to Darwin's theory, LOLA proposes to earmark each island for a specific appropriate purpose. For instance air traffic must be concentrated on the island where it least bothers the unique animal species, cattle breeding should be done on an island where cropping the grass is no problem, and all waste disposal should be gathered on the most built-up island. For this island, San Christobal, LOLA is now working on the forestry, fishery and tourism sectors.
