New Nordic meaning of nature and place

There is a rediscovery of the Nordic tradition taking place in the eyes of some international architecture critics, and this makes the recent publication of New Nordic, Architecture & Identity timely. The book draws links between the contemporary architecture in the region and big names from the past, such as Alvar Aalto, Arne Jacobsen and Erik Gunnar Asplund. It also examines the roots of this architectural tradition in the landscape and its social context. The book is published by the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art in Denmark, where an exhibition on the subject runs until 4 November.
