There is an attention revival in the Netherlands regarding the part infrastructure plays in the landscape. Both the original landscape and urban qualities are increasingly hidden behind expansive infrastructure, baffle boards and industrial estates. In order to turn the tide, the authorities have called into being a new set of instruments for designing routes. Designers can play an important, catalytic part here.
