Aviation Psychology and Human Factors

This book tries to provide a complete overview of the role of psychology in the design of aviation systems, the selection and training of pilots, the psychological characteristics of pilots that may relate to aviation safety, and the behaviour of passengers. The text is aimed at both pilots and psychologists. It tries to give pilots information on the impact of psychology for aviation operations, and tools to evaluate and implement products and systems. For psychologists, the book aims to provide a better understanding of the application of psychology in aviation. However, in the preface, the authors indicate that the book is biased toward the needs of aviation students and pilots. Both authors are aviation psychologists but one has fixed and rotary wing flying experience.
