ENVIRONMENTAL GRANT UPDATE The Louisa Outerbridge Memorial Garden - An integral part of life at Bermuda High School for Girls

The Louisa Outerbridge Memorial Garden was built two years ago by BHS parents and friends of Louisa, a former student and teacher at Bermuda High School. The garden boasts two raised beds, in the shape of butterfly wings, (whose plantings vary seasonally), a small pond and a permanently planted butterfly garden. Last year monarchs, gulf fritillaries, Bermuda buckeyes and two species of sphinx moths and their respective larvae were observed making themselves at home among the plants. There were 14 toads counted in the pond at the height of the mating season.
