Time effects of three contaminants on the durability and permeability of a solidified sand

The work presented in this paper examines the effect of three different contaminants in low and high concentrations on the durability (wet-dry and freeze-thaw) and permeability of stabilised/solidified contaminated sand. The effect was investigated in terms of the development of the two properties with time under the influence of the contaminants after two different curing periods and hence giving some insight into the development of the behaviour with time. The results shown that in some cases the behaviour is dependent not only on the type of the contaminant but also on this concentration.
