This article continues a series of writings highlighting the economic and financial benefits associated with good environmental planning and management strategies,rnwhich can lead to increased financial value for business organizations.rnOne such strategy is the use of landfill gas (LFG) for energy. Landfill gas is a renewable energy source. Making use of this resource in waste-to-energy projects at municipal solid waste landfills can reduce air emissions while also providing significant economic benefits. Utilizing landfill gas in energy production offers a particularly valuable strategy for reducing emissions of methane, which is a powerful greenhouse gas.
