摘要

Choosing an environmental control technology for destroy- ing oxides of nitrogen(NO_x)became essential when Engel- hard, a manufacture of automotive catalysts, included inor- ganic nitrate compounds in their formulations. Heat treating catalysts inside a high temperature over causes these com- pounds to decompose, producing NO_x and other gaseous by- products, including volatile organic compounds(VOC_s) local environmental regulations limit the maximum concen- tration of total NO_x to 200 parts per million(ppmv).
