A review of internet sites and literature on indoor mold/fungi

Indoor air quality problems are becoming a major con- cern to the general public as it seems people spend almost 80/100 to 90/100 of their time indoor[1]. More and more, homes and other buildings are sealed tightly in order to enhance energy conservation. Tighter insulation in today's building limits the amount of air that enters the building. Although this improves the energy efficiency, it reduces the exchange of air between indoors and outdoors. This reduction, in combination with excess humidity in the building, could promote the growth of microorganisms.
