Today's marketplace is increasingly dependent on satisfy- ing a myriad of local environmental requirements, the demands of environmentally aware customers plus global voluntary environmental initiatives. Industry has made great strides in its efforts to protect the environment. Hundreds of billions of dollars have been spent in an effort to decrease the release of toxic substances, while simultaneously devel- oping technologies to reduce or eliminated hazardous waste generation.
