This new final ruling from EPA, issued under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), requires manufacturers of 19 high production volume (HPV) chemicals, including those used in household, personal care, and automotive products, to test for the health and environmental effects of their products and submit the data to the agency. In doing so, it closes a "loophole" on an earlier volunteer initiative, the HPV Challenge Program Chemical List.
