Brighter Future for One NJ Landfill—PSE&G and INJMC Open First Landfill Solar Farm

On May 8, New Jersey dedicated the Kearny Landfill Solar Farm, the first solar project constructed on a state-owned landfill. Representing a new start for the 1A Landfill, operated by the New Jersey Meadow-lands Commission (NJMC), the three-megawatt installation is a joint effort between PSE&G, which manages the landfill, and SunDurance Energy, an Edison, NJ-based solar developer, which did the construction.
