The book begins with an introduction to green building principles and practices in residential construction, discussing eight principles of green buildings. The book has five sections. Section 1 discusses what is green building and why does it make sense? Section 2 addresses structural systems. Sections 3 and 4 address exterior and interior finishes, respectively. Section 5 addresses mechanical systems. The book has 16 chapters, followed by an epilogue section, an appendix, a glossary, and an index.
