Environmental Protection in the Balance:Citizens, Courts, and the Constitution

The Environmental Law Reporter is privileged to publish materials from the February 26, 2010, symposium, "Environmental Protection in the Balance: Citizens, Courts, and the Constitution." The symposium spotlighted the central relationship between the U.S. Constitution and environmental protection by focusing on four main areas: 1.Access to the courts and standing for citizens to sue; 2.Scope of congressional authority to protect the environment; 3.Constitutional issues related to state and regional climate initiatives; and 4.Future issues in environmental protection.
