Preface: selected papers from SEGH 2010 conference on environmental quality and human health

"Environmental Quality and Human Health," the main theme of the SEGH (Society for Environmental Geochemistry and Health) 2010 conference, is one of the most challenging issues that human beings are currently facing. Between 27th June and 2nd July 2010, almost three hundred delegates from 39 countries attended the SEGH 2010 International Conference in Galway, Ireland. Among the 263 delegates (291 with accompanying persons and exhibitors), were 74 (28%) students. There were 158 oral presentations and 83 posters.
