Looking for the most outstanding IEng

Nominations are being sought from the Licensed Members of the Engineering Council for an award for the most outstanding engineer registered as IEng in 2012. The award is named after Baroness Platt of Writtle CBE FREng in recognition of her work in support of the engineering profession in general and Incorporated Engineers in particular. The Engineering Council is delighted at the recognition being given to Incorporated Engineers through this award, which is believed is the first award specifically for IEng. The Baroness Platt of Writtle Award is made by the Worshipful Company of Engineers, a Livery Company of the City of London in conjunction with the Engineering Council. The successful candidate will have to show that he or she 1. has displayed outstanding commitment to the engineering profession; 2. has excellent written and oral communication skills; 3. can demonstrate the qualities to lead teams of engineers; 4. gained professional registration as an Incorporated Engineer with the Engineering Council during 2012; 5. is a British citizen or has resided in the UK for at least five years and whose permanent residence is in the UK.
