Controlled Power Technologies (CPT) is a seven-year-old automotive technology group that has made an impact in developing superchargers, stop-start systems and exhaust gas energy recovery. But chief executive Nick Pascoe says that the real and fundamental change that will see a whole range of technologies that can contribute significantly to reducing emissions and increasing fuel efficiency will come with the adoption of a 48V architecture to run alongside the conventional 12V systems in vehicles.
