Overcoming barriers to apprenticeships

In the City of London for the past two years there has been a Livery Companies Apprenticeship Pilot Scheme that has won over £1 million of government money and placed and funded 52 apprentices in collaboration with the City of London Livery Movement. This pilot scheme overcame many of the barriers faced by small-, and micro-sized businesses and sole traders in acquiring, retaining and administering apprentices.
