One of the most exciting archeological expeditions of 2015 is set to be the renewed dive on the Roman shipwreck off the Greek island of Antikythera, where a 2,000 year old calculator of amazing sophistication was discovered back in 1900. There are hopes that the divers may even recover another ancient Greek mechanism, possibly shedding light on the intended function of the bundle of gears and pointers that has fascinated scholars for more than a century.
