Testing is the core of product verification. But how is the remit of the test house changing, as new technologies come on stream and become incorporated in standard products? Examples include GSR and Zigbee. In July, I attended the Testing and Global Approvals Conference 2015 hosted by Trac Global. Amongst the highlights was a session on certification of Zigbee products. At the same time, security concerns have emerged concerning the Zigbee standard. A common theme is the speed of technological advance, leaving standards and conformance testing in its wake.
