Manufacturing strategies are changing, thanks to the influence of 3D printing. The aerospace industry is driving forward innovation and acting as the spearhead for digital manufacturing. Thales Alenia Space, working in collaboration with the 3D printing service company Poly-Shape, has produced additively manufactured (AM) parts for the new Koreasat-5A and Koreasat-7 South Korean communications satellites.
