The fire and explosion hazard of the 1.4 billion-plus aerosols filled in the UK annually with flammable propellant and product has prompted EU and UK to update 1975 regulations. Intertek offers aerosol flammability testing to European and UK standards, comprising projection and flashpoint tests of aerosol and its contents. "In response to the risk and the high level of compliance the legislation demands of them, Intertek has set up the capability to determine the flammability of aerosols," said technical manager Philip Bullock.
