In an article in this issue, we interviewed Alasdair Coates, the new CEO of the Engineering Council, who talked about the need for collaboration between those with a part to play in the future direction of the profession. The collaboration he was referring to related to the professional engineering institutions, the Engineering Council and other stakeholders. However, a recent local event in Lincolnshire proved that promoting the profession can take many forms.
