The Committee of European Environmental Engineers Societies, otherwise known as CEEES, had its first meeting at GEC in Rochester, England, 20 years ago. It was set up by a group of individuals who had become extremely frustrated at the lack of communication between environmental engineers throughout the UK, Europe and America. One of them, later to become the group's chairman, was Graham Hooper.
