Dera soon to become map makers of the seabed

Detailed maps of the seabed will soon become reality due to an automatic seabed classification system called SAPS (Soner Acquisition and Processing System) devised by DERA (the Defence Evaluation & Research Agency). Since developing the system for mine hunting, DERA has been developing its use of an interactive database for effective environmental reconnaissance operations. The system operates with any data which contains textual information including radar or infrared imagery.
