Council project aims to open new paths into the profession

The Government, in response to recommendations in the Gateways to the Professions report, established a development fund for projects that tackled issues and barriers faced by people seeking to enter the professions through higher education. The Engineering Council was one of the professional organisations in England invited to submit proposals for these projects. The Engineering Council's submission aimed to address the issue that working engineers who were eligible did not, for whatever reason, progress to become professionally qualified.
