Euro NCAP's influence on car design has been immense. Its testing work has forced significant changes to vehicles' front-end structures and as a result the acceleration levels experienced by occupants have reduced to the point where they can usually be counteracted by smart restraint systems.rnThe design of the front has changed to take into consideration the safety organisation's test requirements, structures have become stiffer, and airbags and restraints have advanced.
