L'IMPATTO AMBIENTALE DEI PROFILATI IN ALLUMINIO PER INFISSI: UNA METODOLOGIA DI ANALISI IN CAMPO

The increasing awareness about the limit of the resources and about the degradation of the environment pushes technicians and planners toward the evaluation of the impact exerted on the natural environment by the anthropic activities. The building sector is particularly interested by this process, since it deeply affects the economy of the industrialized as well less developing countries. Moreover it must be observed that in the building sector new materials are currently utilized that substitute the old traditional materials. Aluminum represents one of the most important examples in this sense, due to its wide use as a component for the windows frame. As that, it is urgent the availability of data referring to each local production situation, that enable the evaluation of the pollutants released in the atmosphere during the production phase of the aluminum window frames, since they are going to represent an important component of the buildings materials inventory. In this paper, with regards to the Sicilian productive situation, a simple methodology is proposed for easy evaluating on the field the embodied energy and the pollutant emissions of the aluminum window frames.%L'accresciuta consapevolezza nei confronti della finitezza delle risorse e del degrado ambientale spinge verso la valutazione dell'impatto esercitato sull'ambiente dalle attività antropiche. Il settore dell'edilizia è particolarmente interessato a questo processo, in virtù della sua incidenza nel panorama economico e produttivo delle società umane, a quaisiasi livello di sviluppo esse si collochino. Inoltre occorre sottolineare che in edilizia si va sempre più affermando l'impiego di materiali diversi da quelli tradizionali. L'alluminio riveste certamente un ruolo protagonista di questa tendenza, soprattutto per il suo vasto impiego come componente per le finestre, sotto forma di profilato. Appare pertanto urgente poter disporre di dati che si riferiscono alla realtà produttiva italiana e che consentano di valutare le emissioni inquinanti rilasciate in ambiente durante il ciclo produttivo dei profilati in alluminio, che cominciano a rappresentare una componente non trascurabile nell'inventario dei materiali costituenti gli edifici. In questo lavoro, con riferimento alla situazione produttiva siciliana, si propone una semplice metodologia di valutazione in campo dell'energia incorporata nei profilati in alluminio e delle emissioni inquinanti rilasciate durante la loro produzione.
