Oxford buys US imaging

Instrumentation and research equipment group Oxford Instruments is buying US company Platinum Medical Imaging for an initial $18 million, rising to $37 million depending on performance. Platinum provides parts and services for MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) and CT (computed tomography) medical imaging instruments. Its 33 staff in Florida and California sell parts, make repairs and rebuild systems.
