The logistics of setting up, say, a hydrogen supply network are often cited as one reason why electric vehicles and hybrids are seen as a likely way forward, rather than more radical technologies. Currently the national grid and associated infrastructure could not support an EV on charge in every household, so there needs to be a long-term strategic decision to upgrade the grid.
