Fuel cell pioneers awarded grant for automotive work

The Carbon Trust is providing £1.95 million of investment to two UK fuel cell pioneers who are working to deliver a much needed step-change reduction in the cost of the technology for use in the automotive sector. The two companies are Run-corn-based Acal Energy and ITM Power, which is based in Sheffield. ITM is being funded to the tune of £1.1 million to help develop its membrane technology to increase the power density of a fuel cell for use in automotive applications.
