摘要

Biofiltration of waste gas stream containing acetone was investigated in this study. The experiments were conducted in a laboratory scale reactor with a mixture of compost and porous clay particles as the filter material. The concentration of acetone in the inlet gas was varied from 0.62 to 4.17 g/m~3 (257-1830 ppmv), whereas the gas superficial velocity ranged from 0.66 to 4.21 cm/s. It was found that the acetone elimination capacity of this biofilter could reach up to 82 g/(m~3 h). A mathemati- cal model was also developed by taking into account double-substrate limiting microkinetics, diffu- sion of the substrates in the biofilm, and the flow pattern of the bulk gas phase.
