Science and Policymaking

Representative George E. Brown Jr. presents a persuasive argument assailing the role of skeptic science and the devaluation of the process of peer review in his March 1997 article "Environmental Science under Siege in the U.S. Congress." His discussion of the relationship between science and policymaking raises a number of deeper issues that deserve a closer look.
