Biotechnology is no longer science fiction. Ian Wilmut and his colleagues at the Roslin Institute in Edinburgh, Scotland, drove that point home with their recent success in cloning sheep. Many of us, including President Bill Clinton, were caught off guard. This month's Bytes of Note column describes some Internet resources one can use to bone up on biotechnology and its environmental significance.
