Hastings Plans to Get Legislation Started In 2014 to Reform Endangered Species Act

Rep. Doc Hastings (R-Wash.) said Dec. 12 he expects the House Natural Resources Committee, which he chairs, to advance legislation during 2014 to improve the Endangered Species Act. The committee has laid the groundwork for potential changes through two years of hearings on the act. At the latest in that series of hearings, Hastings said the reforms will be "common sense" improvements that will benefit endangered species and people together.
