Valued representative for women in engineering

Bev Corless, a highly valued member of Engineers Australia and Engineering Technology Group principal engineer at Alcoa Australia, died on 3 May after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. Throughout her engineering career Corless made an outstanding contribution to the profession and to Engineers Australia. She was a fantastic representative for women in engineering, and devoted a lot of time, energy and compassion to support other female engineers, both in WA and nationally. However, her influence extended well beyond women in engineering, through her other roles in the WA Division Committee, the Civil College Board, the Environmental Engineering Society and her many other voluntary activities in the areas of education and the community.
