The Sunrise Dam gold mine, 220km north of Kalgoorlie inrnWestern Australia and operated by AngloGold Ashanti, isrnundergoing major maintenance works to combat corrosionrnand wear on its carbon-in-leach (CIL) production tanks.rnCIL tanks are critical to gold production and it is vital tornoperations that regular maintenance is performed to minimisernthe risk of substantial outages caused by corrosion and wear.rnAt Sunrise Dam gold mine, the scope of works included thernrefurbishment of CIL tank concrete plinths and repair of anyrndamage to the tanks internal coatings. The refurbishment isrnbeing performed by the Kalgoorlie division of Savcor.
