Dr Jane Sargison is a researcher who has been able to extend her academic achievements into practical engineer ing applications. She has contributed to engineering education in Tasmania in her capacities as a senior lecturer at the University of Tasmania, a member of the senior executive of the School of Engineering, and a mentor to high school students who are considering tertiary study in engineering.
