Odour control for wastewater treatment plants

Sydney Water, Abigroup Water and CH2M Hill combined their resources in March to form the Odour Management Program (OMP) Alliance, which will aim to reduce the odours emanating from wastewater treatment plants in Sydney and Illawarra. Sydney Water established the Alliance to undertake a five year program of work aimed at addressing odour-related issues at most of Sydney Water s plants through treatment and capture. The first stage of the alliances program will involve an $80 million upgrade to plants at Cronulla, Malabar and North Head.
