Australia's first satellite program

The University of New South Wales (UNSW) is now offering Australia's first masters program in satellite systems engineering. The new course has received more than $650,000 in support from the federal governments Space Policy Unit through its Australian Space Research Program and signals a desire to train engineers with the skills necessary to support an emerging Australian space industry. "Until now, there hasn't been a dedicated postgraduate program in space systems, such as satellites," said Dr Elias Aboutanios, project leader and senior lecturer in the School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications at UNSW.
