Gerald O'Hanlon 1925-2012

Nobody could have been more dedicated to construction than "Gerry" O'Hanlon, as he was generally known, who passed away in December. He never stopped working and in his 87th and last year, set about putting all his experience and passion for his work into a book Hands-on Construction - A practical overview of civil engineering fieldwork. O'Hanlon graduated from Melbourne University with a bachelor of civil engineering in 1948 and headed straight for the Sunshine State to work for the Irrigation and Water Supply Commission on the construction of weirs.
