A new online system has been introduced to reduce the response time by the Migration Skills Assessment (MSA) team of Engineers Australia to advise applicants of their assessment outcomes. The team which comprises 12 CDR assessors (engineers), two accredited qualifications assessors, one manager and two administration staff, process around 8000 applications each year. MSA said that the time taken for EA to review an application, through to completion, is about 10 weeks for Competency Demonstration Reports and around six weeks for Australian Education Qualification and Accord Assessments. However, the team now anticipates these times will drop to eight and four weeks, respectively. Another plus is that applicants will not have to wait for postal services for their outcome letters as they can now be viewed instantly online, via the website.
