UNIQUE DOLPHIN JETTY HANDLES MASSIVE LNG SHIPS

Curtis Island is a short ferry ride from Gladstone in Queensland. Most of the island is either national park or state forest, but the south-eastern corner features three new liquefied national gas (LNG) projects, each of which will convert coal seam gas from the mainland into LNG for export. Closest to Gladstone is the Gladstone LNG project (GLNG), led by Santos in partnership with Petronas, Total and Kogas. To the north is the Quensland Curtis LNG project (QCLNG), being managed by BG Group and China National Offshore Oil Corporation. Further north again is the Australia Pacific LNG project, a joint venture between Origin Energy, ConocoPhillips and Sinopec. The QCLNG project already has one train in operation and the other two facilities are expected to have their first trains in operation by the end of the year.
