Innovative Slab Formwork Lifts San Francisco's Newest Residential Tower

One Rincon Hill Phase Ⅱ, a 52-story, 299-unit residential development currently under construction in San Francisco's South of Market (SoMa) District, is one of the largest-and most challenging-residential projects under construction in the area. Available working space on the tower is extraordinarily tight. Due to the heavy seismic activity in California, the rebar is extremely dense and offers very little space for embedments and form ties. There's little room to erect and strip forms. Working with Webcor, Doka combined two of its climbing systems-the Automatic Climbing Formwork SKE and the Super Climber system. The system raises the formwork at the push of a button and supports and raises the concrete placement boom at the same time, for a safe, space-efficient and time-saving concrete pour solution.
